When you share a Mac computer, it's helpful to create different profiles -- known as accounts -- for each user. Separate accounts allow all individuals using the computer to change the wallpaper, add programs in the Dock and on the desktop and set their own preferences. Mac OS X lets you create Administrator and Standard accounts, as well as special purpose accounts such as a Managed Account with Parental Controls or a Sharing Only account, which can only access shared files.
1.Click the 'Apple' menu and choose 'System Preferences.' You can also click the 'Applications' folder on the Dock, scroll to 'System Preferences' and select the icon.
2.Mac Quantum Profile User Guide
Click 'Accounts' or 'Users and Groups' in the 'System' panel, depending on your version of OS X. Click the 'Lock' icon in the lower-left corner of the Accounts window and enter your Administrator password. Click 'OK.'
3.Click the '+' sign under the Accounts list. Select an account type from the 'New Account' drop-down menu.
4.Type the new user's name in the 'Full Name' text box. Type an account name, which serves as the user's login name, in the 'Account Name' text box.
5.Type a password in the 'Password' text field. You can click the Password Assistant icon next to this field and generate a random password of the length and type you specify. Type the password again in the 'Verify' box. Enter a hint in the 'Password Hint' text box. Click 'Create Account.'
6.![User User](/uploads/1/2/6/2/126263448/255822687.jpg)
Click 'Turn Off Automatic Login' if you normally log in without a password. If you click 'Keep Automatic Login,' the only way another account can log in to the same computer is if you log out. Click the 'Lock' icon.
Tip
- To ensure that the newly-created account is working properly, click the 'Apple' icon and log out of your account, then log in with the new username and password. When you confirm that the new account is functional, you can log out and return to your account.
